Ten shapes an evening takes, from one hour to a whole week

Four of them usually do. A room call, the quiet version of the girlfriend experience, a late night out and, if you write before about four in the afternoon, the overnight. The other six carry parts that cannot be hurried. A client table wants a brief in writing. A duo needs two diaries to agree. A couples evening is not held until both halves of the couple have said so themselves. An arrivals booking waits on a flight, and a whole week is best drawn up several days out so that no evening lands in the wrong order.

All ten start at an address you give: a hotel room, a serviced flat, a tower apartment or your own front door. The map runs from the Square Mile east to the airport and south under the river, and every district on it sits inside about twenty five minutes of Canary Wharf.
