The photographs: what they are, and what is done to them

Sessions are arranged with a photographer she has met, in a studio or a room hired for the purpose, with three to five hours booked so that nothing is rushed. She brings her own clothes. She sees the full set afterwards and chooses which frames go up and which never do.

The style is glamour and lifestyle photography: evening wear, natural light where there is any and lamps where there is not. Nothing on this site is explicit, there is no nudity in any frame, and no image is taken in a way she has not agreed to first.

Faces are softened. That is the one deliberate alteration, made so a woman working in London is not recognisable to a colleague from a thumbnail. Backgrounds are cropped to the shape of this site and colour is corrected for a screen.

Her body is not reshaped, her height is not implied by a lens and her age is not smoothed away. The figures on her page, the height in centimetres and the age in years, are the ones you will meet. A photograph that needed a lie to work would not be worth publishing.

A life that has nothing to do with this list. The women on it have careers, courses of study and families who know nothing about this work, and each agreed to be photographed on one understanding: that the face cannot be matched to the name. Take the anonymity away and there is nothing left to publish.

For the same reason the files stay here. Copying them, saving them, republishing them or running one through a reverse image search is not permitted, and neither is photographing, recording or trying to identify any companion. It ends the booking at once under the conduct rule set out in the terms, and the fee is not given back.

No stock photography, no images lifted from anywhere else, no pictures generated by a machine and no frames of anyone who is not a companion on this site. Every file is used here with her written agreement, for this purpose, for as long as she wants it up.

She can have any image removed at any time, without giving a reason and without discussion. It happens a few times a year and it is never argued about. Removal takes hours rather than weeks.

The check that matters is the one at your door. She arrives as the woman in the photographs, dressed for the building, and if that were ever not the case it would be ours to put right rather than yours to live with.

Names are working names, which is ordinary in this trade and not a deception. Everything factual about her, on the desk and on her own page, is accurate. If you want to know something a photograph cannot tell you, ask Maude before you book rather than afterwards.
