About Cindy
Blonde, wavy, worn long and mostly left alone: Cindy has the sort of hair that argues with a brush and wins, and she stopped fighting it years ago. She is 168 cm and slim, with blue eyes and a walk that suits flat shoes and a hill, which is convenient given where she likes to spend an evening. Her clothes are simple and considered, a knitted dress, a long coat, and she carries a proper bag rather than something decorative, because she intends to be outside for part of the night.
At 26 she is calm company, the kind who turns a silence into a pause instead of an awkwardness. Her English is quietly precise, and she gives directions the way a pilot does, in distances and minutes. Astronomy started as a teenage hobby and never quite stopped; she can find four constellations over the river on a clear night and is honest that the other eighty five defeat her. She laughs easily, mostly at herself, and she has no patience for anybody who is rude to staff.
Greenwich is where she is happiest and she plans it by the clock. The last admission at the Royal Observatory, then the walk down through the park while the light goes from copper to nothing, which takes about twelve minutes at her pace and twenty at everyone else's. Supper follows near the market, close enough to walk. Her flat is in Chelsea, so the Jubilee line and one DLR change bring her east, and she will tell you the arrival time to the minute rather than promising to be there soon.

Booking her evening
Greenwich wants three hours at £700, since the hill and a table will never fit inside two. Tell the desk roughly when the sun goes down that week and Maude will work backwards from it.

An evening with Cindy
She will want to start earlier than you expect, because the whole plan hangs on the light. Up the hill first, which is steeper than it looks on a map and worth every step, then the terrace by the Observatory where the whole of the Wharf stands on the far bank looking like a bar chart someone left switched on. She is good at that moment: she lets it be quiet. Down through the park, out past the Naval College, and into somewhere near the market for supper at about half past eight. She talks about the light, about a telescope she cannot justify buying, about the first time she crossed under the river on foot and did not enjoy it at all. Afterwards the DLR runs back to E14 in eleven minutes, or a cab takes eight, and she is content with either.

Hill first, always. The view is free and it closes. The kitchen is neither of those things.
What should I wear for that walk?
Something you can climb in. I have watched a very elegant man take fourteen minutes to do a six minute path, and he was not enjoying his shoes.
Are you as happy staying in?
Entirely, if the plan says so from the start. What I do not like is a good sky wasted because nobody decided anything.
