About Lea
Auburn is a difficult colour to carry and Lea does it without effort, long and wavy and left a little undone on purpose. She is petite, 161 cm, with hazel eyes that shift with the light in a way she is entirely aware of. Her clothes are chosen for movement: a dress that does not restrict a stride, a coat with real pockets, boots that can take a mile of paving. She is neat rather than polished, and she has never once been the woman standing still waiting to be admired.
The temperament is bright and slightly mischievous. At 23 she has the confidence of someone who was the youngest in a large family and learned to hold the floor early. She speaks English at a gallop, and her second question is always better than her first. She swims, she draws badly and enjoys it, and she can tell you the seating capacity of most venues in E20 because she has been in them. She is generous company and hopeless at hiding boredom, so she will simply propose something better.
Stratford is her patch. The Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park at the end of the day, in along the canal from the station, nine minutes to the water gardens and about fifteen to the stadium if the light is holding. She likes the scale of it, the fact that a whole district was drawn from nothing and mostly works. Supper afterwards is a short walk back towards the station. Home is Belgravia, which makes this the long way across town for her, and she comes anyway because she likes the place.

An evening with Lea
Her Stratford evening starts on foot, which surprises people who have only seen the shopping centre. Out of the station, down to the canal, and in past the water gardens with the Orbit twisting overhead in that colour nobody has ever successfully described. She walks fast for a woman of 161 cm and does not slow down for conversation, she just talks while moving. By the time you reach the stadium the light has usually gone and the whole park has switched over to its evening self, quieter and rather better. Supper is wherever the diary says, ten minutes back towards the station, and she orders decisively. If there is a show she has opinions about the tickets, strongly held, and she will say straight out whether the second half earns your time.

Five hundred and sixty acres that were a rubbish tip twenty years ago. Yes. And at seven on a summer evening you will have most of it.
How long from the Wharf?
Jubilee line, about twelve minutes, or a cab in twenty when the A12 behaves. It is closer than the map makes it look.
Are you always this energetic?
